Duration: 3 Months – June 2013 to Aug 2013

Responsibilities and key deliverables:

·               Worked on the performance analysis of HANA (as a primary database: replacing BI) with BI. The Comparative study included data provisioning of 0.5 million sales records to HANA and BW

·               Created information models and queries on top of the information models in both the systems. We emphasized on the use of HANA as a primary database to leverage its in-memory calculation speed and compare the performance with a BW system

·               Created BO 4.0 Dashboards using both BI and HANA systems as the database to display the same

·               Performed data modeling in HANA Studio and developed Analytical views for the transactional data, Attribute views for the master data and Dashboards on top of calculation views (using IDT)

·               Compared the runtime of BW Query and HANA Query to evaluate the performance

·               We concluded that there is a significant difference of around 500% in the query processing time of HANA as compared to BW
